Meeting Minutes July 12, 2011

Acting President Earle Hammond called the meeting to order at 7:03 p.m. at the Pomme de Terre Lake Area Chamber Office. 
                                    
The Agenda was approved. Motion - Jim McCarty.  Second - Don Thrall

Minutes were read and approved as amended. Motion by Jim McCarty, Second by Vince Sala. Motion carried.

Treasurer’s report was presented by Earle Hammond. Checking Account: $16,328.96.	  Building Account: $7,297.97. Savings Account: $5,363.80. The Treasurers Report was filed for audit.

MEMBERSHIP REPORT

Harold Dunning asked for a list of former Chamber members who have not renewed their membership for next year. He will be contacting them to remind that they need to renew now to be included in the 2012 Vacation Guide.

SPORTS SHOWS

Earle reported that the payment has been made to both the Kansas City and St Louis Sports shows. We will need to pay for Electricity as we are planning to have a small TV/DVD player to show video of the Lake and area.

WEBSITE & IT

Vince Sala reported that the May Minutes should be up shortly. We had traffic of 29,078 visitors to Chamber site with a breakdown of 43.47% to the calendar and 2.2% looking at fishing articles. We need to make sure the fishing articles are up to date. The Vacation Guide received 1% of the visitors.  A discussion of whether or not to include the Lucas Oil Speedway events on the calendar as held. It was the consensus of those present that the speedway brought visitors to our area and should be on the calendar.  


The new answering machine is in place.

VACATION GUIDE

ACT Now Promotions is publishing the guide again this year.  We are collecting articles for the publication.  Anyone wishing to have an article placed in the guide should contact Earle Hammond ASAP.

FIREWORKS OVER THE WATER.

Jim McCarty presents a letter he had sent to the Index thanking all the this years’ successful event.  The chamber The Corps of Engineers paid for the Porta-pots again this year.

50TH ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION SUGGESTIONS

Brad Meyer reported that the event to be held on September 17 will include:
11:00  a.m.  Food - Fun - and Games
  1:00  p.m.  Parade
 1:30 p.m.  Special Entertainment
  2:00 p.m.  Official Ceremony
  Cake and Ice Cream
  Branded to play
                             

OTHER

Earle showed an Ad that is to be placed in the Index asking for more volunteers to man the Chamber Office. At present the office is open on Monday mornings and maybe one or two other morning a week.
