Pomme de Terre Lake Area Chamber of Commerce Meeting Minutes September 12, 2011 Board Members in Attendance: Damon Smith, President Hermitage Floral Gary Neely, Vice President Muskie’s, Inc. Mabel Davis, Secretary Lady Esther Enterprises, LLC Nancy Sisson, Board Member St Bernadette’s Jeannie McCubbin, Board Member Victor Domzalski American Legion Post 785 Harold Dunning Indian Hill Resort Anita Burnett W Central & Community Action Agency Tim Pratt MO Dept of Conservation Vincent Sala Berryland RV Park Harold Looney American Legion Post 785 President Damon Smith called the meeting to order at 7 p.m. at the Pomme de Terre Lake Area Chamber of Commerce Office. The Agenda was approved as amended. Anita Burnett and Tim Pratt spoke to the Chamber members about the importance of having a not-for-profit group take over the duties at the Food Pantry as soon as possible in order to continue with the Department of Conservation Share Your Harvest Program. West Central will still provide services to county residents as it has in the past. Minutes for August Meeting were read and approved as amended. Motion made by Jeannie McCubbin. Second by Nancy Sisson. Motion carried. Treasurer’s report was presented by Gary Neely on behalf of Earle Hammond: Checking account balance of $20,336.89; Building Fund Balance or $7,324.46; and Savings Account balance of $5,582.70. FALL FESTIVAL At present there are 6 booth applications. Due to duplicate applications from wickless candle dealers one of the dealers will be given free booth space next year. IT and WEBSITE Vincent reported that the website was up to date. He is working on the e-mail access problems. VACATION GUIDE The Directory is complete and ready to go to the printers. 50th ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION There will be a fishing tournament sponsored by the Pomme Bassin Knights and Nemo Bridge Resort. Damon reported that 25 booths had applied to set up. Branded will be playing and local school bands will be in the parade if it does not rain. The members present, by concensus, decided that a 2011 Vacation Guide should be placed in the time Capsule. OTHER Gary spoke of the need for chamber guidelines on future donation requests from local Not-for-profit organizations. A suggestion was made that all requests must be come before the chamber at least 30 days before the donation is needed. Further discussion on this matter was tabled until the October meeting.
