President Damon Smith called the meeting to order at 7 p.m. at the Pomme de Terre Lake Area Chamber Office.

The Agenda was approved as amended.

Minutes were read and approved as amended. Motion by Gary Neely, Second by Melissa Boyd. Motion carried.

Treasurer’s report was presented by Earle Hammond. Checking account balance of $8,323.82. Building Fund Balance or $5,262.30. Savings Account balance of $7,630.37

President Damon Smith read a letter from the Bolivar Emergency Management Office about a community meeting for Bolivar. Polk County and Surrounding Communities. The program will provide the latest geological information about our earthquake threat; unveil training programs to prepare citizens for the first 3 days until emergency responders can arrive from western states; present the need to help coordinate the housing for responders and their equipment after a major earth earthquake; and outline practical steps to prepare your business to be among the 1% of affected business that survive. This meeting will take place February 3rd at 6 p.m. at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, McKenna Hall at 1405 W. Fairplay Street in Bolivar, MO. The Membership report was given by Gary Neely. At present the Chamber has 104 members. New membership forms are due to be sent out in the spring. The need to update our New Membership forms was brought before the Chamber. Gary said he would take care of the updates.

Brad Meyers from the Corps of Engineers spoke to the Chamber about forming a Committee to decide what activities are needed to celebrate the 5oth Anniversary of the Pomme de Terre Dam. Damon Smith and Jim McCarty volunteered to serve on the committee. The meeting date for the committee is February 16th at the Corps of Engineers Office at 6:30 p.m. Ideas for this event are welcome. Contact Brad Meyers or a committee member.

Brad also spoke of the 3rd Annual Running River Trail 5K to be held on May 13th. Information on the run will be posted on the Chamber website.

Terry Mayfield from A. M. Pyrotechnics, LLC spoke to the Chamber members and brought the new three year contract for approval. The cost of the display will not increase for the Chamber. Harold Dunning made the motion to approve the contact, Don Thrall seconded. The motion carried.

SPORTS SHOWS
Earle reported that he and Jim Wilson had attended the Kansas City
Sports Show. They passed out 2250 new Vacation Guides and are mailing guides those people who came after all the guides had been given out.
The Cabin Fever Sports Show at sedalia is February 4th and 5th. Earle asked for volunteers to sit the booth if he is presenting seminars. Perry Wells indicated that he might be able to help out.

WEBSITE & IT
Vince Sala presented a contract for the 2011 website renewal for $13 per month or $156 paid annually. The contract was approved.

FALL FESTIVAL
Melissa Boyd reported that she has received one application for the 2011 Fall Festival.

VACATION GUIDE
The 2011 Vacation Guides have arrived and can be picked up at the Chamber Office.


PROMOTIONS
Earle reminded members of the 1st Annual Fireworks Fund Raiser. The Dinner and Concert by Gary Burt will take place February 26th at 6 p.m. at the McCarty Senior Center. Tickets are $20 each or a table for 8 can be reserved for $150. Contact Chamber members for tickets for this Prime Rib or Chicken Dinner with all the fixin’s plus an evening with Gary Burt ads he sings Frank Sinatra, Tony Bennett and Dean Martin.

The Chamber will also be giving away a Big Screen TV in March. Tickets for this Fireworks Fund Raiser will be available soon.

INSURANCE RENEWAL
Damon Smith is to contact Insurance Companies to ask for bids on the liability insurance. A motion was made and seconded that if no bids came in lower than the present policy by the due date, the policy is to be renewed. Motion passed.


OTHER
The need for a Chamber of Commerce sign on the outside door was brought up. The sign was tabled to be bought up again at a later date when more information was available on the type of sign needed.
