About the Chamber
On May 5, 1960, a meeting was held to discuss forming "a promotional and advertising organization for the new lake area." A committee was appointed to "outline the organization by selecting a name, drafting the bylaws, and serve as a nominating committee for the election of officers."

On May 9, 1961, the first President of the new Lake Pomme de Terre League was elected. Membership was $10 and 34 charter members were enrolled.

In December, 1964, the Lake Pomme de Terre League revealed its official insignia to be used on all league advertising, and windshield stickers were also available.

In 1994, the name was changed to Pomme de Terre Lake Area Chamber of Commerce.

Today, the Chamber of Commerce continues operating as a non-profit organization acting as an advocate to meet the needs of the business community. The mission is to lead economic growth with a balance between Local Businesses, Residents and Tourism that creates opportunities for our Community.
